Sony AIBO ERS-2X0 disassembly

There are six holes in the belly of an ERS-2X0 for taking the limbs off of the core. To take them off use the limb removal tool supplied with every 2X0 AIBO. If you don't have the tool you can use anything small enough to fit into the hole but it needs to be rigid. Be carefully to push straight in because the tabs in the core can be bent out of shape.

The emergency battery release button can release the battery and allow it to be ejected when the AIBO won't pause. Use a paperclip and push in to release the battery.

Release holes and reset
Here I am using the limb key to release the right front leg. Push the key in and then push the leg in the direction of the arrow to remove it. The proper order to remove the limbs is left or right front leg, then the left or right rear legs. Next remove the tail and last the head. Reattach the limbs in the opposite order.
Limb removal
Here the tail is being removed from the core. The key needs to be in this position or 180 degrees opposite otherwise the key won't fit properly when you push it in.
Tail removal
Here the head is being removed. Again the key needs to be in this position or 180 degrees opposite otherwise the key won't fit properly when you push it in. Please note the difference for the head and tail.

Here are all the parts taken off of the core.
