Sony AIBO ERS-7 Entertainment Robot

ERS-7 White

The ERS-7 was introduced on September 4th 2003.

The ERS-7 is available only in Pearlescent White. The new touch sensitive sensors are located in the head, three on the back, and under the chin. There are also sensors on each paw. The new Illume-Face is an LED face panel that provides a new way for the robot to express its feelings, emotions and current conditions. There is also a new edge detection sensor in the chest to help AIBO avoid falling from a steep height. The new touch sensors on the head and back also illuminate in different colors.

The ERS-7 comes with everything needed right out of the box. The Mind software is on a 32 MB Pink memory stick. The charging station with the barcode patterned station pole and black, blue and green station marker allows AIBO to recharge him/herself when the battery is low. This is the first AIBO that can truly be left running autonomously 24/7.

The ERS-7 also introduced a new toy for AIBO, the AIBOne. AIBO can pick up the bone in his mouth and do tricks with it.

The ERS-7 is often referred to as Snoopy because of the resemblance to the Peanuts character from Charles Schulz.
