The ERS-210 is the first
AIBO that responds to voice commands. They were made available on
November 16th. 2000.
The 210 was available in Silver, Gold, and Black. The AIBO was
sold with no software or charging station. The AIBO could operate
in a Demo mode with no software and be charged with the supplied
power adaptor and the chest plug that most people refer to as a
"dongle".
The 210 has several sensors used for interaction with the dog.
The sensors are located on the head, back, and under the chin. There
are also sensors on each paw.
On June 24th 2002 the original 210's were offered with a new Super
Core processor that doubled the speed of the previous model. Sony
regrettably never wrote any software to specifically take advantage
of the increased speed. The "A" was added to the model
number (ERS-210A) to signify the Super Core.
