| The ERS-111 is a slightly
modified version of the 110. The Silver color was made available
first for a special edition of 10,000 units in November of 1999
for Japan and The United States. Another 30,000 units were made
available in February of 2000 for Japan, The United States, and
Europe. They were available in silver and black then.
The 111 is silver or black in color with all of the joints and
toes in black no matter the color. The ears are squared off at the
front edge and the tail has three sections.
The 111 uses a sound controller because it does not respond to
voice commands. It came with everything necessary to fully utilize
the robot and had to be raised from a puppy to an adult by interacting
with him/her for many months if not longer depending on how long
you played with AIBO.
The 111 has a head sensor that can be used to praise or punish
the dog.
The 110 and 111 are the only AIBO's that can have a gender assigned
to them on their memory sticks
The 110 uses an 8 MB or 16 MB purple memory stick. For custom
programming no larger than a 16 MB memory stick may be used, AIBO
will not boot up.
