| The ERS-110 was the first AIBO Sony
made available to the public. On May 31st. 1999, 3000 were sold
in twenty minutes on the internet in Japan setting a world record.
On June 1st. 1999, 2000 more were made available in the United States.
They sold in less than a week and the servers crashed because of
all the traffic to the web site.
The 110 is Champagne Gold in color with all of the joints and toes
in gray. The ears are round at the bottom and the tail has four
sections. The longest and I would say most active tail of any AIBO
to date.
The 110 uses a sound controller because it does not respond to
voice commands. It came with everything necessary to fully utilize
the robot and had to be raised from a puppy to an adult by interacting
with him/her for many months if not longer depending on how long
you played with AIBO.
The 110 has a head sensor that can be used to praise or punish
the dog.
The 110 and 111 are the only AIBO's that can have a gender assigned
to them on their memory sticks
The 110 uses an 8 MB or 16 MB purple memory stick. For custom programming
no larger than a 16 MB memory stick may be used, AIBO will not boot
up.
